Confianz has climbed several positions in the latest annual ranking of law firms published by the financial daily Expansión, which provides a snapshot of the law and business advisory sector in Spain. In the 2019 ranking of domestic law firms, Confianz is ranked 48th in terms of overall volume of business, five places higher than the previous year.

In the ranking of invoicing per lawyer, which also includes all the major international law firms operating in Spain, Confianz is in 78th place. The firm is also well placed in terms of job increases in the sector in Spain, in 55th place on the list, having ended the previous year with a total staff of 44.

Moving up the prestigious Expansión ranking in this way is a huge recognition of the hard work and dedication of the Confianz team, given that this is a clear benchmark ranking for the business advisory services sector in Spain, and includes the countries most prestigious firms.

Investment manager Suma Capital has acquired a majority holding in training provider Implika

Confianz is playing a core advisory and supporting role in the ambitious expansion plan undertaken by Implika, a Bilbao-based firm which in a short time has become a nationwide benchmark in vocational training and upskilling. The plan set in motion includes the recent acquisition of a majority stockholding in Implika by the investment management firm Suma Capital, with a view to providing backing for the expansion of Implika by launching new training courses and opening new centres in medium-sized Spanish cities.

Founded in 2009, Implika has quickly become strikingly successful in Spain’s education sector, with sustained growth rates in excess of 27% since 2016. This strong expansion is based on a flexible, highly digital training model that combines online training with face-to-face tutorials and workshops at the firm’s centres, with a clear emphasis on preparing trainees for employment. Indeed, 70% find work within six months.

Implika currently offers a broad range of over 200 courses, and this year expects to exceed €22 million in turnover. Revenues are forecast to double in the coming years thanks to the injection of support from Suma Capital, enabling the range of training offered to be expanded and new centres to be opened in cities where the firm had no previous presence.

Best Lawyers extends its recognition to another partner in Confianz.

US publication Best Lawyers, one of the world’s most prestigious guides to lawyers and consultants, has once again included Confianz in its new, 2020 edition. The guide highlights the fact that over 500 corporate groups have put their trust in the professional services offered by Confianz in the fields of law and tax, financial and business assessment and in support for family firms.

Along with Confianz partner and general manager Manuel Urrutia, who specialises in corporate law and Mergers and acquisitions, the new Best Lawyers guide also includes Confianz partner Álvaro Mendiola, a specialist in tax law. This is the first time that Best Lawyers has featured two Confianz lawyers in its guide, and thus marks a further step forward in the recognition of the specialist work done by the firm.

Best Lawyers was founded in 1981 and has become one of the most distinguished international guides to lawyers and consultancy services. It applies a rigourous process of investigation based on the opinions of fellow professionals, and is published in 75 countries.

The financial daily Expansión has placed Confianz high in its annual rankings of law firms. These rankings are benchmarks for the trajectory of the law business in Spain. Confianz is ranked 12th in terms of staff development in 2018, after finishing the year with a total workforce of 43, including 24 lawyers.

This is the second year in succession in which Expansión has included Confianz in its ranking. The firm occupies 52nd place in the list of Spain’s leading law firms in terms of volume of business, with revenue of €3.3 million and a year-on-year growth of almost 14%. In the ranking of revenues per lawyer, Confianz is ranked 82nd with a figure of over €76,000. Unlike the volume-of-business list, this list also includes the major multinational law and consultancy firms that operate in Spain. Confianz’s presence in the prestigious Expansión ranking comes along with its inclusion in recent years in leading international law guides such as Best Lawyers.

The data for financial year 2017 rank our firm in 51st place among domestic firms in terms of overall volume of business and in 79th place for invoicing per lawyer.
